Non-residential colleges give students living off-campus with the sense of community and subsequent benefits provided to student’s living on-campus. A critical part of how non-residential colleges to provide this community is through college advisors.
You can become a non-residential college advisor and fulfil this role! The voluntary, one year role assigns you 15 college members to mentor helping to encourage members to take part in college life, outside of academics.
College mentors are given training in Mental Health First Aid and SafeTalk, get the opportunity to work closely with like-minded people supporting student’s needs as well as the chance to network with senior academic staff.
Mentors will be involved in college community through assisting and attending events, contact with members and participate in the relevant training and development opportunities afforded to them.
Interested students performing well academically who can commit to the full 12 months of the program, and have completed 24 points of credit from your Monash degree are encouraged to apply.
