2018 Undergraduate Science Student Awards

The Undergraduate Science Student Awards are now open for 2018!

Students may self-nominate, or be nominated by another student or staff member, around the broad category of leadership, academic culture & science communication.

Nominations will close at 5pm on the 1st June, 2018, so please complete the Google Form A.S.A.P!

The following criteria are all underpinned by conditions that the successful recipient should have a credit average for all undergraduate units. They may also be in any year level of their undergraduate degree.

1. Community Spirit Award:
Students are nominated by one of the Science-based clubs for their contribution to the student and staff community in the Faculty of Science.

2. Science Leader Award:
Based on but not limited to students who have contributed to the following.
– Social inclusion
– Social justice
– Enterprise
– Efforts towards charitable or not-for-profit groups

3. Academic Culture Award:
Based on but not limited to students who have contributed to creating an initiative to support fellow students academically or collaborated with staff to improve/design curriculum assessment.

4. Science Communication Award:
Based on but not limited to students who have contributed to the following.
– Cultivating a science-based blog/ popular micro-blogging or social media science profile/ YouTube or other website activities with broad readership/engagement

Nominations will be assessed by the selection committee appointed by the Dean in consultation with the Associate Dean (Education).
