Masters Information Session coming soon!

The Faculty of Science is pleased to present its first Masters Information Session to help you explore the graduate coursework options open to you after completing your science undergraduate degree.

You are invited to attend our inaugural Masters Information Session: Courses and Careers Paths session on Tuesday, October 8 between 5.00pm and 7.00pm at S1, S3, and S4, 16 Rainforest Walk.

The session will also provide you with the opportunity to meet Course Directors, current students, Alumni and speak with staff to gain an understanding of how the course could work for you based on your career aspirations and goals.

Course advisers will be on hand for breakout information sessions to provide you with detailed information about the:

Master of Environment and Sustainability

Master of Financial Mathematics

Master of Food Science and Agribusiness

Master of Mathematics

Master of Science (Astrophysics, Atmospheric Science, Earth Science and Physics)

In addition to invaluable information about our graduate courses, the Expo will provide you with advice on topics such as FEE-HELP, Credit Transfer, Study Mode, and more.

Physics Student Scores Runner-Up Spot In National Quantum Games

Games are a great way to help the public understand abstract principles. Fourth year Bachelor of Science and Engineering student Alexander Tritt did just that and came in runner-up at the 2018 Quantum Games – a nationwide competition hosted by the ARC Centre for Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS) to explain the science behind quantum mechanics through computer games.

Our Exam Checklist #MotivationMonday

Feel prepared and ready to go the next day. Night before your exam:

  1. Pack the night before! Make your exam checklist.
    • Here is an example of my exam checklist:
        • student ID/ID with a photo
        • pens, pencils, erasers, sharpener, highlighters, rulers
        • 2 bottles of water (remove the labels)
        • watch (not a smart watch)
        • 2 packs of tissues
        • layered comfortable clothing (some exam rooms are too hot and others are too cold)
        • light snacks or lollies to reward myself in a 3 hour exam
        • an approved calculator (if required)
        • allowed notes or textbook (for open book exams)
        • and anything else I think I will need for the particular exam

Moreover, the program allows for 2nd Year Science students from the various disciplines of science to form friendships, share knowledge about their fields, and develop professional teamwork skills.
