Undergraduate Science Student Awards

The Young Science Leadership Awards are now open for 2017. These awards are intended to recognise student achievement across a broad range of areas and celebrate their achievements.

Any science student may nominate by completing the form here. Nominations will close 5pm on the 12th of May, 2017.

The awards and criteria are as follows.

1. Community Spirit Award.

Students are nominated by one of the Science-based clubs for their contribution to the student and staff community in the Faculty of Science.

2. Young Science Leader Award.

 Students may self-nominate, or be nominated by another student or staff member, around the broad category of leadership. This may include

a. Social inclusion

b. Social justice

c. Enterprise

d. Efforts towards charitable or not-for-profit groups

3. Academic Culture Award.

Students may self-nominate, or be nominated by another student or staff member, around the broad category of ‘academic culture’. This may include

a. Initiative supporting fellow students academically

b. Collaborating with staff to improve/design curriculum assessment

4. Science Communication Award.

 Students may self-nominate, or be nominated by another student or staff member, around the broad category of science communication. This may include:

a. Cultivating a science-based blog

b. A popular micro-blogging or social media science profile

c. YouTube or other website activities with broad readership/engagement
